Children's Privacy

1. A note for grown-ups

ParkerJoe is a children's clothing boutique. We have stores in Houston (Rice Village), Sugar Land and The Woodlands, Texas, and in Las Vegas, Nevada, and we sell online at parkerjoe.com.

We sell things children wear, but our website, customer accounts, AI Style Lounge, emails and ads are made for parents, guardians and other adults who shop for children. They are not made for children, and we ask children under 13 not to use them.

This page explains, in plain language, how we handle information that relates to children. Our Privacy Policy covers everything else.

2. The short version

• Our site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
• We don't ask about your child, except their clothing size. We never ask for a child's name, birthday, age, school, photo or location in our forms, accounts, event RSVPs or AI Style Lounge.
• We use advertising and analytics tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, TikTok and Pinterest. They collect information about visits to our website so we can show our ads to adults and measure how they work. We don't aim ads at children. You can opt out (see section 7).
• Our AI Style Lounge is live for signed-in account holders only.

3. What we never ask for

• We never ask for a child's first or last name, date of birth, age, school, photo, home address, phone number or location anywhere on our website, in our AI Style Lounge, or on our event RSVP forms.
• We don't use games, characters or child-facing designs to invite children to fill in forms, sign up for emails, chat with our AI Style Lounge or create accounts.
• If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without a parent's or guardian's consent, we will delete it.

4. What adults may tell us that relates to a child

• Clothing sizes. You can ask our AI Style Lounge to remember the sizes you shop for, such as "4T" or "7–8". A size range on its own doesn't identify your child.
• Gifts shipped to a child. If you ship an order straight to a child, the shipping label needs a name and address. We use them only to deliver that order, and they stay with the order record.
• Gift cards. If you send a digital gift card, we collect the recipient's name, email address and your message so we can deliver it. Please use a grown-up's email address.
• Event RSVPs. We ask how many people are coming (up to six). We don't ask for children's names or ages.

5. Accounts are for adults

You must be 18 or older to create a ParkerJoe account. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will close it and delete the information in it.

6. Our AI Style Lounge

What it is. The Style Lounge (parkerjoe.com/pages/lounge) is an AI stylist that suggests pieces, sizes and gift ideas from our catalog. It is powered by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Its answers are generated by AI and can be wrong, so please check sizes and details on the product page before you buy.

Who can use it. Only signed-in account holders. Visitors who aren't signed in are turned away. It is meant for parents and guardians.

If someone says they are under 13, the Lounge stops and asks them to get a grown-up. That message is not sent to the AI. We keep only a filtered copy of that message, for up to 30 days, as a record that the Lounge stopped the conversation.

What happens to what you type:

1. To answer you, we send your message and the recent conversation to Anthropic. So the stylist can pick up where you left off, we also send your first name, your Circle membership level, any preferences you've asked it to remember, and short, filtered notes from your Lounge conversations in the last 30 days. We don't filter your message before it goes to Anthropic, so please don't type your child's name or other personal details.
2. To find products, the AI writes a short search phrase (for example, "linen shirt for church, size 7–8"). We send that phrase to OpenAI to match it against our catalog. The phrase is sent without your name or account details.
3. Before a reply reaches you, we automatically remove things that look like email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, dates of birth, ages, school names and names introduced as a child's name, and we remove links to other websites. This filtering is automatic and may not catch everything.
4. Conversation records. We keep a filtered copy of each message and reply, linked to your account, for 30 days. We use it to keep the service working well, to limit misuse (for example, a cap on messages per hour) and so the stylist can remember recent conversations. Then it is deleted automatically.
5. Saved preferences. If you ask the stylist to remember your sizes, favorite brands, occasions or typical budget, we save them to your account so they're there next time. We check each value before saving it and refuse anything that looks like a name, age, date or other personal detail. Saved preferences stay until you ask us to delete them (email privacy@parkerjoe.com) or your account is deleted.

7. Advertising and analytics on our website

What we use. Our website uses advertising and analytics tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics and Google Merchant Center), TikTok and Pinterest. These tools use cookies, pixels and similar technology.

What they collect. When you visit, they can collect the pages and products you view, searches, items added to your cart, checkouts and purchases, together with device information such as your IP address, browser type and cookie identifiers. When you are signed in or check out, we may also share your contact details (such as email address, phone number, name and address), usually in a scrambled ("hashed") form, so these companies can match website activity to their users and measure our ads.

Why. To show our ads to people who have visited our website ("retargeting"), to find other adult shoppers who may like our products, to measure whether our ads work, and to understand how our website is used.

Adults only. We set our ad campaigns to reach adults (18 and over). We don't aim ads at children, and we don't upload customer lists built from information about children to advertising platforms.

The honest limit. These tools can't tell who is using a device. If a child browses our website on a parent's phone or computer, the tools may collect the same visit information they would collect from an adult. That is one reason our website is designed for adults, and it's why we offer the choices below.

Your choices:

• "Your Privacy Choices" link. Use the link at the bottom of every page to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and targeted advertising for the browser you're using.
• Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as the same opt-out for that browser.
• Browser and platform settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and change your ad settings with Meta, Google, TikTok and Pinterest.

Opting out does not turn off the cookies we need to run the store, such as your cart, checkout and sign-in.

8. Emails and text messages

• We send marketing emails only to adults who sign up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• We don't send marketing text messages today. If we start, we'll ask for your separate permission first and update this page.

9. Who we share information with

We share information only with companies that help us run ParkerJoe, and with the advertising partners described in section 7.

We never let these companies use information about your child for their own purposes.

10. Photos of children

• We never ask you to upload a photo of your child to our website.
• If you share a photo of a child on social media and tag us, we won't repost or feature it unless the child's parent or guardian gives us written permission.
• At events in our stores we may take photos. We post a notice, and we ask a parent or guardian before we use a photo of a child in our marketing.
• The children in our product photos are professional models photographed with a parent's or guardian's signed permission, or are created with AI tools.

11. Events and RSVPs

When you RSVP to one of our events:

• If you're signed in, we record the RSVP against your account and the number of people coming. We also note the event on your account so we can email you a reminder.
• If you RSVP as a guest, we ask for your name, email address and the number of people coming. We don't add guests to our email list.
• We never ask for children's names or ages.
• We use RSVPs to plan the event (for example, to manage a guest list or waitlist) and delete them within 12 months after the event.

12. Your rights as a parent or guardian

You can, at any time:

• See the information we have about you and your account.
• Correct it.
• Delete your account and the information linked to it, including Lounge conversation records and saved preferences.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails with one click.
• Opt out of advertising tracking (section 7).

To make a request, email privacy@parkerjoe.com from the email address on your account. We'll confirm it's you before we share or delete anything, and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records for tax, accounting or legal reasons.

If you think your child under 13 has given us personal information, email privacy@parkerjoe.com and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this page

If we change how we handle information about families, we'll update this page and the date below. If the change is significant, we'll also email account holders.
